Free Review… If You Have an Illness or Disability

Do you have a business? How about an illness or disability? Blogger of “My Chronic Life” says, “I am always happy to help promote businesses that are run by people who have any type of chronic illness or disABILITY. If you would like your business promoted on my blog please contact me.”

How refreshing! Your book doesn’t have to be on your illness or disability. But you should have some kind of “business” thing going — meaning you are actually promoting your book!

  1. Hi Lisa,
I am a Type 1 diabetic, I own a graphic design business by day and authored 8 books during the past few years. If you visit the web site, you’ll see that my passion is no longer design, but I have turned into a professional speaker to share my message of Developing the Abundant Cs of a Forever Legacy. Speaking of chronic illness, my books were written because of a young mom who died of melanoma leaving behind 4 children under the age of 5. My book site is in the process of being redone to divide it into the secular speaking vs. my love of speaking to Christian women. I present at retreats regularly.
After you’ve visited my site, e-mail me and let me know what book you’d like and I would gladly gift one to you. I very much appreciate what you do on a number of levels.
Blessings for all you do and share …
    Vickie Mullins

I actually have ministry site where i sell my own personal books and gifts, I love doing things with my hands, and writing for the love of God. I find frustrating when I thinking every resource I can to get the word out and don’t have not even one order of my booklets. I receive such a blessing from doing this regardless of my learning disability, other health problems that comes with have a disability. My prayer is get a any orders in. If I am done something that directs the person away I am looking forward to some assistance to fix it. I also have free store as well.

  3. Hi,

I’m new to this forum and just found this section by browsing. My book ‘Out of the Shadows – Jenna’s Secret’, will be at the publisher, based in Western Australia, in the next 7 to 10 days. My editor is ill and hopes to resume the final touch up tomorrow.

I have a separate website for the book, which is still under construction but available for viewing… http://www.out-of-the-shadows.com.au As soon as the book is at publishers and a final sale price is agreed on, I’ll be adding order and payment pages. I have about 40 private orders via internet already and discussions with two school libraries to begin after school holidays here in Brisbane, Australia.

I’ve had an unexplained drop foot for 13 years and I’ve been wearing a foot and leg brace for five years. Being housebound and at times bedridden last year, due to being partly paralyzed from waste to toe on my right side, my desire to write increased, especially to complete a book that has been very much on my heart since 2003. I began writing in 2006 after years of neglecting the whole idea of writing since I was 8 but that’s another story.

My surgery was successful… as in my feeling returned and I’m able to get on with life. Unfortunately, for my foot/leg, the surgery came far to late and I’ll have this disability permanently.

I’m doing the best I can with promoting my book, before released date, with the limitations of not being able to walk the pavement.

I have the pleasure of traveling to America on the 27th July; something I never dreamed of doing, especially since my disability. The trip is going to have it’s difficulties, and with my dear husband and carer unable to join me due t work commitments, I have to cope. But, I will do it!

I hope to use the opportunity to promote my book in the USA while I’m there. Do you have any suggestions on how I can achieved that? I have considered another edition printed with American spelling. However, being set in a typical Australia suburb, I won’t change seasonal and local descriptions.

Thank you for your time, and the opportunity to share.

    Chrissy

Hey Girl – At your suggestiotn (CLASS) I signed up for Shelfari. Would you like to be my friend at this networking site? I can’t seem to figure out how to find friends who are already members… . It’s a weird networking site. Good place to get the Spirit active and people knowing about our God, eh?
    Cheers!
